Several RATP drivers were allegedly pressured to remove warning lights before technical inspections of buses, which the company denies.
Several RATP bus drivers accuse the company of falsifying technical inspections. One driver says he made warning lights disappear before a technical inspection in 2019. “I carried out this trafficking under duress and threats”he says. A manager allegedly provided him with a box to plug into the bus to clear the lights on the dashboard. The aim for the company would be to avoid costly immobilization of these vehicles.
RATP indicates that these are drivers in conflict with the company. “It is not possible to hide a defect on a bus during a technical inspection”assures Jimmy Brun, spokesman for the RATP. A control center says it is difficult to hide defects, but acknowledges that cheating is not impossible. The RATP says it has launched an investigation, the first results of which are expected on August 24 and 25.
