The father of a 13-year-old girl has been sentenced to two years in prison, along with custody, after she made an anti-war cartoon at school.

Aleksei Moskaliov, 54, appeared Monday, March 27, before the court in Efremov, 300 km south of Moscow. The father of the family was prosecuted for “spreading false news” concerning the Russian army and his case created great emotion in the country.

At the beginning of April 2022, Masha, the daughter of Aleksei Moskaliov made a drawing in class… We see a woman and a child targeted by missiles, with, next to it, the inscription Glory to Ukraine and not to war. Seeing this, the school management calls the police and reports Aleksei Moskaliov and his daughter. They then find themselves facing the FSB, accused of discrediting the armed forces.

The girl sent to a home

At first, the father was fined, but the security services do not let him go and then accuse him of having published anti-war posts on social networks. House search, arrest… Masha is sent to a home where she no longer has contact with her father who was under house arrest until his judgment.

On Tuesday March 28, his lawyer announced that Alexei Moskaliov had finally been found guilty of having “discredited” the Russian army on social networks and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, after a lightning trial. A sentence in accordance with the requisitions, Monday, of the prosecutor of the court of Efremov. The young girl now risks being placed in an orphanage, his father could lose custody of it definitively after another trial which will begin on April 6.
