In Roost-Warendin (North), Father Sébastien works for the poorest and runs an association that promotes social and professional reintegration.

Father Sébastien, 41 years old and residing in Roost-Warendin in the North, does not take up his post as “a profession since it is a vocation”. As the 2022 presidential election draws near, he recalls that in his view, “to give your opinion, you must already have been able to vote”. Among his main concerns, he explains that he expects “for 2022, there will no longer be anyone sleeping outside”. He says he regularly pays for nights at the hotel for people who sleep on the street.

Father Sébastien also thinks of the “young people coming out of prison”. He thinks they are left too alone and “we should have almost a follow-up”. In his association, we welcome young people aged 18 to 30 to “carrying out social and professional reintegration”. A donor has offered a food-truck to the association and Father Sébastien is walking the streets to sell food and thus replenish the association’s coffers. For 2022, he wants “work for everyone”. “Work also trains a man”he points out.
