Father arrested for aggravated assault on his 12-day-old baby

A 28-year-old father from Sherbrooke was arrested Wednesday evening in Estrie for aggravated assault on his 12-day-old baby.

“We fear for the baby’s life,” said agent Martin Carrier, spokesperson for the Sherbrooke police.

It was a complaint filed with the police that put the police on the suspect’s trail.

The complaint was registered just hours before the individual’s arrest.

The Sherbrooke police force refused to make any further comments in this case, “out of respect for the court”.

However, other criminal charges could be brought against the father of the family.

The appearance of the man was to take place during the day Thursday, at the courthouse in Sherbrooke.
