Only a few days after his public return to the red carpet, Alec Baldwin is once again talking about him concerning the case of the fatal shooting that occurred on the set of the film Rust. This time, dozens of exhibits (photo of the weapon, crime scene, video of the interrogation, etc.) have been made public by the Santa Fe police.
On the famous video published, we see a crowd of rescuers and police around the victim Halyna Hutchins in the middle of Western decor. In the extension we recognize Alec Baldwin white beard still in his movie costume heading towards the policeman to introduce himself as the “shooter“. Shocked, the actor then sat down before officers returned to him to take him to the station for questioning. On some video fragments, it is possible to hear the actor tell the police: “The gun must have been empty! But I repeated with a gun with a bullet inside, (…) I’m speechless. I need to know how this could have happened! Where does this bullet come from?“ The director and screenwriter of the film Joel Souza had also been wounded in the shoulder by the bullet which pierced the director of photography. “We were filming, everything was fine. Joel was my friend. I am one of the producers of the film. We worked on Rust together for three years“explained Alec Baldwin on the subject (see slideshow).
Joel Souza was also able to give his version of the facts to the authorities, stating, “there was one ‘bang’ very loudly, and I felt like someone tapped me on the shoulder and I was down. And I saw Halyna Hutchins with blood running down her back.“
Since then, the investigation has continued in Santa Fe. The sheriff is notably awaiting ballistic results to close the case. The family of the victim is very angry with the comedian of beetle juice and Infiltrators. In mid-April, the film’s producers were fined $136,000 for failing to secure filming.
