Fatal hit-and-run: two pedestrians killed in Montreal

Two pedestrians lost their lives during the night from Sunday to Monday, in a violent accident that occurred in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville district of Montreal.

The event occurred on Boulevard Henri-Bourassa near Boulevard de l’Acadie at 1:20 a.m.

According to initial information, the two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle which then fled.

The two victims, two men aged 30 and 31, were pronounced dead on site.

The suspect was arrested after fleeing in the vehicle, then on foot. The 23-year-old man is expected to report to investigators during the day, Monday.

“The man has a criminal record and a blood sample was requested from the hospital center to see if alcohol or drugs would be involved,” said agent Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the Police Department. of the City of Montreal (SPVM).

A stage was erected on site to find out more about the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
