(Messines) The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is calling on the public to find the person who was driving a van who possibly witnessed a head-on collision that killed two people Wednesday morning in Messines, Outaouais .
“We are looking for the occupant(s) of a style van pickup white car traveling on Route 105, southbound, near the airport (of Maniwaki), in the same hours as the collision occurred,” said Sergeant Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The crash involving two other vehicles happened on Route 105 at around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, not far from where a fatal crash occurred two days earlier.
A man in his thirties and a woman in his twenties, who were traveling in the same vehicle, were transported to hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries, confirmed earlier in the day another spokesperson for the SQ, Sergeant Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.
The man driving the other vehicle was injured.
The SQ has not yet determined which of the two vehicles, which were traveling in opposite directions, would have deviated from its lane.
Route 105, which was closed during the investigation, reopened in the early afternoon.
“Anyone with information on this event is asked to contact the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec at 1-800-659-4264,” said Sergeant Bernard.
