A collision between two cars near Saint-Félicien, in Lac-Saint-Jean, cost the life of a sexagenarian on Saturday morning, while a woman is still in critical condition.
The accident took place on Route 169, around 10 a.m., in a curve near Chemin du Lac. One of the two vehicles would have deviated from its lane when it entered the bend, causing a violent face-to-face.
The two drivers, a man and a woman who were alone in their respective cars were taken to the hospital center to treat serious injuries.
“The death of the man in his sixties was unfortunately found in the hospital in the hours that followed,” said Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The driver, meanwhile, remains in critical condition.
A police officer in collision investigation went on the spot to clarify the circumstances of the fatal accident, but the slippery road could probably be in question, specifies the SQ.
Traffic alternated on Route 169 for a few hours to allow the authorities to do their job and clear the road.
