Farrell finds his rhythm | The Journal of Montreal

“I want to go back to Harvard. It was clear in my mind. I still have a lot of things to improve before taking the leap. I want to dominate in the NCAA and help my team win. »

On July 11, Sean Farrell had clearly identified his mission for the next season. On the first day of the Canadian’s development camp, the little winger reiterated his desire to continue his apprenticeship at Harvard.

There was no ambiguity in his speech. He wanted to stay in school and gain experience with the Crimsons.

In his second season at Harvard, Farrell is so far keeping his promises. After nine games, the CH fourth-round pick in 2020 finds himself at the top of his team’s scorers with 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists). He is one point ahead of center Matthew Coronato, a first-round pick of the Calgary Flames at the 2021 auction.

In his last four games, Farrell has stepped on the gas with nine points (3 goals, 6 assists).

On your mind

Collectively, the Crimsons are also off to a good start with a 7-1-1 record. Ted Donato’s team therefore sits at the top of the Ivy League division ahead of Cornell (6-4-0).

Harvard University suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday losing 4-1 to the Michigan Wolverines, an NCAA powerhouse. Adam Fantilli, who is described as the second best prospect for the next draft after Connor Bedard, collected an assist and fired seven shots in this victory for the Wolverines.

Farrell, meanwhile, got an assist on the visitors’ only goal. Last year, the dynamic winger had several enriching experiences wearing the colors of the United States at the Beijing Olympics and for the World Championship in Finland.
