Despite their meeting with the prefects, the farmers do not intend to lift the blockages. On the contrary, they are determined to intensify the mobilizations.
Dozens of tractors block the N124 near L’Isle-Jourdain (Gers) and we see a coffin, a symbol of the farmers’ despair. Same message on the A64 in Carbonne (Haute-Garonne): third night outside and the night is organized with great determination. Farmers express their anger: “People are fed up, they can’t do it anymore, more and more standards are imposed on us, we have to pay more and more and that’s no longer possible today”deplores one of them.
A meeting planned with the Prime Minister
Tomorrow, the farmers will meet the Prime Minister and they intend to make themselves heard. Jérôme Despey, First Vice-President of the FNSEA, testifies to the requests that will be made to Gabriel Attal: “We must now take action. We are asking and we will ask the Prime Minister for a normative pause and an environmental pause.” Faced with this movement, the government fears that it will last over time, like that of the yellow vests.
