When it’s too much… it’s too much! And Thomas Hugues rather seems to work at the drop of water. In any case, his professional career seems to indicate it.
True star of the first channel, he thus decided to leave his functions and also a wonderful salary, almost overnight! To our colleagues from “Télécâble Sat Hebdo”, the journalist explained, in 2021, the reasons for his departure: “I could have continued by rounding my back to TF1, but I no longer felt well”, specifying that this was not possible for him “to go to work with a lump in his stomach”. In addition, he specified to our colleagues that he refused to give in “to the temptation of the buzz”. At “L’Instant de Luxe”, he also confided that he was earning at the time “3,000 euros per show” by presenting the weekly program “Sept à Huit” which he had co-created with Laurence Ferrari. Remember: the Ken and Barbie du Paf, as the wicked tongues called them at the time! A couple on the screen as in the city. The two journalists were married on October 9, 1993 and separated amicably in October 2007. In the meantime, two children were born from their union, Baptiste, now 29 years old, and Laëtitia, 26 years old.
Come on my decision is made. Goodbye Twitter…too much wasted time, too many fascists on all sides, long live newspaper and magazine apps. See you later friends!!

“Too much wasted time, too many fascists on all sides”
After LCI, France 5, RTL, it is on “Public Sénat” that we can notably find Thomas Hugues on a daily basis in “Sens Public”, the program he presents. A concept of debates between experts, observers and actors from the political world on current issues, a sharing of ideas around what drives French society today. In short, a program that attempts to make sense of current issues! And it is in this context, that the journalist has just announced this December 17 that he slammed the door of… Twitter!
“Come on my decision is made. Goodbye Twitter…too much wasted time, too many fascists on all sides, long live newspaper and magazine apps. See you later friends!!” he writes, visibly and definitively disappointed by the social network so often decried. And even if some of his followers beg him to think twice about it… “A little break sometimes is necessary. It’s too radical to leave and it leaves room for fascists. Goodbye” ; “It is a mistake to leave. Go into radio silence and see in a while.” ; “It’s giving importance and highlighting these unimportant people. Wait and see, there are interesting people :-)”… can we read, Thomas Hugues has once again decided to leave the adventure. Without regret ? The future will tell…
