“To be sent to a ditch or to a stadium, these lawyers already declare that they will not respect the verdict of the ballot boxes in the event of an RN victory”, threatens the sulphurous site Réseau libre.

The far-right website Réseau Libre published an article on Wednesday, July 3, listing around a hundred lawyers “to eliminate”, qualified as “rot” for signing a column in Marianne the day before, against the National Rally. “To be sent to a ditch or to a stadium, these lawyers already declare that they do not respect the verdict of the ballot boxes in the event of a RN victory”threatens Free Network, to which our colleagues at Street Press devoted an investigation at the beginning of the year.

“Of course, they are not the only ones, it is the vast majority of lawyers who need to be neutralized”, is it written on this sulphurous site, which calls for “put things back in order”. Free Network deplores the fact that “these vermin in black dresses” filed a complaint in 2001 against another far-right site, SOS Racaille, which had also published a list of lawyers accused of “defend the anti-France scum”.

This site, which used the visual codes of the SOS Racisme website, was fined 12,000 euros in 2006, as reported by The world at the time. “We are not formally identified, we will not be arrested, and we may be convicted, we don’t care!”assures Free Network.

This publication provoked a strong reaction, starting with the Minister of Justice, who “condemns in the strongest terms” the publication of this list. “Those who want to kill our freedoms always start by attacking lawyers”says Eric Dupond-Moretti.

“Democracy is more threatened than ever when lists of lawyers are circulated to be eliminated because they are fulfilling their mission,” denounces Pierre Hoffman, the Paris Bar Association, on X, while the French Lawyers’ Union (SAF) considers on the social network that this list is a “reminder that it is more necessary than ever to act as a barrier [à l’extrême droite]”.

The criminal lawyers’ association specifies that a report has been made to the Paris public prosecutor’s office and “assures the colleagues concerned of its unconditional support”.
