Jewish students are accused of being complicit in genocide“, denounced Friday May 3 on franceinfo Samuel Lejoyeux, the president of the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF). At the time when the police entered Sciences Po this Friday before noon to evacuate the pro activists -Gaza who had occupied the establishment on rue Saint-Guillaume since the day before, the UEJF held a “dialogue table” at Place de la Sorbonne.

CRS who enter a university to evacuate students, on principle, I find that sad“, he stressed, while denouncing the lack of dialogue among pro-Palestinian activists. “Despite the organization of a debate yesterday (Thursday), far-left organizations do not believe in dialogue, do not want to enter into a dynamic of discussion, but impose their views“, affirmed Samuel Lejoyeux. He called for “get out of this logic of both camps“.”What is happening in Gaza brings tears to my eyes, the violence must obviously stop and any attack on human rights is a tragedy“, did he declare.

“Jewish students in danger”

Jewish students are accused of being complicit in genocide“, regretted Samuel Lejoyeux. “It must be said that a Jewish student who only studies in France is not Israeli, he did not vote for Netanyahu and is not accountable for Israeli politics“, he insisted. “The problem there is that, with the methods and messages of these mobilizations, with their openness to violent or anti-Semitic discourse, it puts Jewish students in danger.“, he continued, referring in particular to these Sciences Po students who had displayed the symbol of “red hands” during the blocking of the site on April 26 in support of the Palestinians.

As a reminder, this gesture can be interpreted as possibly referring to the lynching of two Israeli reservists in a police station in Ramallah, in the West Bank, on October 12, 2000. The students, however, assure that they were not aware of this historical reference.
