Family Planning claims to be the victim of a “extremely violent attack by far-right figures and their sympathizers“, on the background of transphobia on social networks, and announces that it is considering filing a complaint, in a press release posted this Friday, August 19 on Twitter. It calls on all feminist organizations, politicians, trade unions and progressive associations to publicly affirm their support to its values.
The association is violently criticized after the posting of a poster on Twitter on Wednesday August 17, which includes the sentence: “At Planning, we know that men can also be pregnant.“This poster aims to raise awareness that trans men, who were assigned female at birth, can also be pregnant.

” These attacks take the pretext of a poster presenting a trans person to call for our desubsidization, to question our legitimacy as an association for the defense of women’s rights and the fight for the right to abortion.“, denounces Family Planning. ” We consult our legal advisers to prosecute these instigators of hatred who are sometimes elected officials of the Republic.“
The association, created more than 65 years ago to support women, claims the right to welcome and help trans people for their sexual health but also in their transition journey. ” We, feminists, will not accept to see Family Planning being the object of a campaign of denigration on the back of gender minorities. (…) Nothing can justify the violence of the comments made for several days against our organization and the people concerned. Nothing but hate. And this hatred, we will fight it without fail “, she adds.
