Family drama: two children would have been tied up then drowned in Laval

A 46-year-old man was arrested in link with the death of his two children, who would have been tied up then drowned, Monday evening, in Laval. He is expected to appear on Tuesday, authorities said.

The emergency services were dispatched shortly before 6 p.m. to a semi-detached house on rue Lauzon, in the Sainte-Dorothée sector, in Laval.

The first responders then found, unconscious, a boy and a girl, respectively aged 11 and 13 years.

The deaths were confirmed in hospital. According to our information, the two children were drowned and had their hands tied.

After having possibly committed the irreparable, their father would have tried to take his own life.
