In Ukraine, a cruise missile devastated part of a pediatric hospital in kyiv on Monday, July 8. Since then, the children and their families have been in shock.

A few days after the attack, the fragile return to normal in the Okhmatdyt hospital, a children’s institution, hit on Monday, July 8 by a Russian strike. The impact killed a pediatrician and the parent of a sick child. Irina and her son Dmytro, who has cancer, saw the rocket coming through the window. “We were in the room, looking out the window and saw the rocket flying towards the Solomianskyi district. We didn’t think it would crash into the hospital”explained the mother.

Another patient was also present in the hospital at the time of the attack. Still in shock, she recounts the horror: “The stairs were covered in blood, we were so scared. For some time, things had returned to normal, we had gotten used to the situation, but then we entered into chaos without understanding what was happening.”. Last Monday, Russia launched a series of deadly attacks in several Ukrainian cities. 36 people were killed and about a hundred buildings were damaged. Ukraine is once again asking its Western allies to help it strengthen its air defense system.
