Maya Perez was with her friends at the Nova festival on October 7, near the Gaza Strip. When the terrorists arrived, she managed to flee and hide. To save her, her father, Marc, took his car, despite the danger. On the phone, she asks him not to come: it’s the last time she spoke to her father. “His last words were ‘I’m Israeli, I’m Israeli’ and it cut. I think he saw the same terrorists as me, the ones disguised as Israeli soldiers and they killed him“, says Maya Perez.
Three other complaints filed
While coming to pick her up, her father was assassinated by a terrorist commando. Marc was Franco-Israeli. Maya’s family is the first to file a complaint against Hamas for crimes against humanity in France. “It was a massacre, civilian populations were targeted, this is exactly the definition of a crime against humanity.“, assures Nathanaël Majster, lawyer for the Perez family. Since then, three other similar complaints have been filed by the lawyer for families of French victims.
