In Chassiv Yar, Ukraine, families are once again forced to leave their shelter after their apartment building was targeted by shelling.
It was time to leave in a hurry for this Ukrainian family who had taken refuge in Chassiv Yar (Ukraine). Before the war, they lived in Bakhmout, on the front line. The fighting forced them to pack up, six months ago, 20 km away. The respite was short-lived. We must leave again, their apartment having been targeted several times by bombardments. “My daughter has asked me so many times: ‘Mom, let’s go, we have to go’. Me, I was going crazy, I was afraid to leave this place. But since then, we have been targeted, so we have no choice but to leave”laments Liudmyla.
Roads that separate
In the neighboring apartments, empty beds, but also a resident of Chassiv Yar who will also be evacuated. Last month, there were still 50 living in these rooms. A refuge where so many lives have crossed paths and which we now have to leave after a last meal together.
