Sixteen-year-old Bill Zonnon played the heroes with 47 seconds left in overtime with a perfect backhand shot over the shoulder of Océanic goaltender Patrik Hamrla.

In goal, Hamrla made several fine saves in the third period and overtime.

Dull game in first

The start of the game took place in slow motion with many clearances refused for both teams. Maxim Coursol opened the scoring with a quick counterattack in the seventh minute of play. He beat Huskies goaltender Thomas Couture with a wrist shot from the face-off circle that went under the goalkeeper’s arm, which already looked better.

Although he spent a lot of time in the opposing zone during a power play at the end of the period, the Océanic did not manage to create a real threat, apart from a deflection from William Dumoulin over the goal .

Low chance of scoring

Very lackluster second period with very few scoring chances for the two teams who had trouble generating offense. Most of the action took place in the neutral zone.

Very little asked, the Océanic goalkeeper, Patrik Hamrla, made a good save on a backhand shot by Daniil Bourash, probably the best chance of the engagement.

Bourash tied the game 1-1 with a one-timer from the face-off circle on a power play early in the third period. He was well fueled by Dyllan Gill. This goal gave energy to the Huskies.

On the roster side, in addition to defenders Charles Côté (suspended) and Luke Coughlin (injured), Serge Beausoleil cut forwards Liam Jacques and Jude Campbell. Among the Huskies, Jérémie Minville is suspended while Olivier Dubois was left out.

The same two teams will face off Saturday night at 7 p.m.
