Fall of a gondola | Mont-Sainte-Anne can resume its activities

The Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) authorizes the resumption of service of four ski lifts at the Mont-Sainte-Anne ski resort.

The L’Étoile filante ski lift, where the fall of a gondola occurred on December 10, must remain closed.

The RBQ had ordered the ski lifts to stop on December 16. It demanded that the operator Resorts of the Canadian Rockies provide it with an expert report, security clearances, and a training plan to authorize their return to service.

“The RBQ’s priority remains public safety. The Mont-Sainte-Anne station has provided us with all the evidence and requirements to partially lift the order concerning four aerial ski lifts. The reopening of L’Étoile filante will depend on the pace of fulfillment of the requirements set out in the ordinance by the operator, “said RBQ President and CEO Michel Beaudoin in a press release.

No reopening date has been announced by the station.

More details will follow.
