While it already runs 24 hours a day, the Évron factory is looking for 113 employees by September to move to 7 days a week. The only Bel factory solely dedicated to the Mini Babybel, it currently produces 5 million per day. Insufficient to meet demand in Europe and the United States.

To cope with an increase in consumption of Mini Babybel in the United States and Europe, the Bel company in Évron (Mayenne) is recruiting around a hundred employees to produce the famous little round and red cheese 7 days a week, reports France Mayenne blue.

The Bel group wishes to hire 113 employees in Mayenne by September. The recruitment campaign has already been launched: there are still around a hundred positions to be filled. Mini Babybels are produced at six production sites around the world: one in Slovakia, two in France, in Évron and Sablé-sur-Sarthe and three in North America. Only the Évron factory produces only Mini Babybels. Every day, 5 million Mini Babybels are manufactured in Mayenne.

The Évron site is the only one capable of meeting this strong demand. The factory will be reorganized by opening 7 days a week, thanks to the hiring of a new team on weekends. “From Monday to Friday, the factory is already saturated: all the lines run 24 hours a day. So here, it is a question of increasing the opening time by opening on weekends”, explains Léonard Didiot, the director of the Bel factory in Évron.

In 2022, the Bel factory in Évron broke the record for Mini Babybel produced in one year: 27,300 tonnes of cheese were made in Mayenne. This record could be beaten again in 2025 thanks to the increase in production launched from September.
