The 137 billion euros in profits obtained by CAC 40 companies last year are creating tensions with employees, who expect to see their wages increase on this occasion.

Employees have the impression of being dispossessed of the profits of their company. This is particularly the case at Louis Vuitton, the main subsidiary of the LVMH group. The group has just announced 12 billion euros in profits, a historic figure. “Employees are on strike, and that almost never happens in the luxury sector“, explains Anne-Claire Le Sann, journalist in the economy department of franceinfo. In Asnières, in Indre or even in Ardèche, the group’s employees walked off Thursday, February 10.

The unions are demanding for their part a salary increase of around 350 euros per month, while the management only offers 150 and recalls the existence of bonuses and profit-sharing. Within MEDEF itself, voices are being raised to ensure that employees also benefit from these benefits.
