Raphaël Arnault is an antifa activist, listed as S in the police register listing individuals potentially dangerous to national security. He was retained by LFI, the other left-wing forces preferring Philippe Pascal, former labor inspector and humanitarian volunteer, to beat the far right.

The mayor of Avignon “regrets the choice that was made by the authorities and in particular the LFI authorities.
