Some municipalities, located in medical deserts, partially finance the studies of their future practitioner. Léonard, a medical student, used the device and officially committed to settling in Plévenon once he graduated.

It is with a little more lightness that Léonard Farcy, student in 3rd year of medicine, now crosses the doors of the faculty of medicine of Paris-Saclay. He has just obtained an unknown means of financing his studies: 400 euros per month from a municipality in which he agrees to settle, once graduated. “The town hall makes sure to have a doctor in a few years, while all the municipalities in the area are looking a little desperately to recover doctors, and on the other hand I have serenity during my studies financial level”he confides.

The student reimburses the advanced fees in the event of withdrawal

Léonard applied for Cap Fréhel (Côtes-d’Armor), where he has been vacationing since childhood. He approached seven municipalities and obtained two positive responses, including that of Plévenon, where his grandparents reside. An agreement was signed after eight months of negotiations, likely to reassure the reluctant members of the municipal council. In the event of withdrawal, the student must reimburse the sums advanced.
