Several people were seriously injured and are in critical condition after a head-on collision that occurred Saturday evening on Highway 50 between the towns of Lachute and Mirabel.
The accident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Highway 50, near Chemin des sources, near kilometer 267.
According to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), one of the two vehicles deviated from its lane, which caused a face-to-face collision.
Three occupants were in one of the vehicles and they were all seriously injured and taken to hospital. We fear for the driver’s life.
The driver of the second vehicle involved in the accident also suffered significant injuries and is in critical condition in hospital. She was alone in the car.
Police officers specializing in collision scene reconstruction were dispatched to the scene in order to better understand the causes and circumstances surrounding this accident.
Highway 50, between Route 329, in Lachute, and Route 148, in Mirabel, has been closed in both directions for an indefinite period.
