The mythical rock band Queen unveils Thursday October 13 face it alone, a new one on which we hear the unforgettable voice of its leader, Freddie Mercury, who died almost 31 years ago, who recites this chilling sentence, three years before his death: “And in the end, you have to face it alone” ( “And in the end you will have to face it alone”).

This unreleased title was recorded in 1988. The group is then immersed in the recording sessions of the album The Miracle which will be released the following year with, in particular, the energizing I Want It All. Lon November 24, 1991, Freddie Mercury dies of pneumonia. He was 45 years old. And it was only the day before that he allowed his doctor to reveal that he had AIDS, which he had always denied.

It’s been eight years since the band, which continues to perform with new vocalist Adam Lambert, last released an unreleased song featuring Freddie Mercury’s vocals.. Roger Taylor, the band’s drummer, calls her a “little gem”. However, he says in a BBC interview that she had been “forgotten”. Guitarist Brian May originally thought the recording was unsalvageable, but sound engineers worked miracles. “It’s like a kind of assembly of pieces… but it’s beautiful, it’s touching”he told the BBC.

face it alone is released as a single on Thursday October 13 and will also feature on a new deluxe edition of The Miracle, alongside five other previously unreleased songs, three of which also feature Mercury vocals. Released November 18.
