Like his other competitors on the left, Fabien Roussel said he was in favor of legalizing euthanasia. “It’s a question of humanity,” he said.

The PCF candidate for the presidential election Fabien Roussel says to himself “sensitive and rather favorable” to euthanasia this Friday on franceinfo. He recalls the existence of the Claeys-Leonetti law, “which provides for the advance directive, support for people, deep sedation”. “All this is not necessarily put in place because we lack the means in public hospitals to bring the Leonetti-Claeys law to life”he laments.

“Me president, I will continue this debate to put on the agenda a text of law which could legalize it”, says Fabien Roussel. The communist candidate “wishes to have this debate until the end on the occasion of the presentation of a text of law dispassionate as much as possible so that we can have the broadest consensus”.

“We have to work for the broadest consensus, it’s not left or right, it’s a question of humanity.”
