“I have no illusions about the policy that Michel Barnier will implement”declared Fabien Roussel on franceinfo on Thursday, September 5, after the transfer of power at Matignon between Gabriel Attal and the new Prime Minister.
“He has been in politics for 51 years. He is an ultra-liberal, a defender of the ultra-liberal European Union.”adds the national secretary of the Communist Party. “The issue of debt will be waved like a bell in front of the French so that there are no investments and that on the contrary we are asked to always tighten our belts.”
Fabien Roussel highlights the differences between Michel Barnier and the left: “The repeal of the pension reform is essential for us, the increase in salaries is essential for us, investments in public services too and I know that Michel Barnier is not going to pursue this policy.”assures the national secretary of the PCF. “On these subjects, as much as we could have discussed with Xavier Bertrand, as much with Michel Barnier I know that it is closed”. So many arguments which allow Fabien Roussel to evoke a motion of censure: “I think we will definitely vote for a motion of censure.”.
Fabien Roussel promises that his party will be “constructive” but “We will not give up anything on what we believe is important for the world of work”. And the communist went on to detail: “We will refuse to raise the retirement age, which is already 64 today. We will refuse any additional savings measures on our public services.”
“If Barnier presents us with an identical budget, or even a lower one, compared to this year’s, he continues, Of course we will censor such a government because it will mean new suffering for our country, for our public services and for the world of work.”
