“F1 is here to stay in Montreal,” assured the Plante administration on Monday, a week after the event experienced significant problems.
The race weekend was marred by site access problems, a massive intrusion of the public onto the circuit before the end of the race, as well as water leaks in the television studios.
The big boss of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, also apologized to the various teams for the progress of the event.
“Yes, there were some hiccups that were known throughout the weekend,” admitted the head of sports on the executive committee Caroline Bourgeois on Monday, as part of the municipal council. “There are adjustments that need to be made,” she continued, however assuring that the race would remain in Montreal.
“Montreal is a Grand Prix city, drivers like to come to Montreal, tourists appreciate the show,” she added.
