A notice of water interruption has also been issued in the boulevard sector, from rue de Pontivy to avenue Ampère, according to the Ville de Laval website. The advisory was still in effect shortly after 4 p.m.

Providing for a 24-hour outage, the city’s public works department distributed water bottles to residents of the area at the end of the afternoon.

The metropolis was not spared by this phenomenon either, as a major aqueduct break occurred overnight from Friday to Saturday at the corner of rue de Castelnau and rue Rousselot, in the Villeray borough. –Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension.

Several other water main breaks were also reported on Friday in Montreal.

The temperatures forecast for the next few days should not help the situation, with a wind chill of -23 in the morning for Sunday and -17 in the afternoon, with some snowflakes also expected during the night from Saturday to Sunday.
