Appointed Thursday in his new role, Marc Tanguay will thus face his first test of leadership.

Few details have leaked so far about the exact time of the meeting or its potential conclusion.

Remember that Marie-Claude Nichols was expelled from the party’s caucus a few days after the last election because she officially refused to serve as spokesperson for the political party on transport.

His banishment had led to a chorus of reprimands against the leadership of the former leader of the PLQ, Dominique Anglade, who had finally decided to resign a few days later in the face of persistent discontent.

Appointed two days later to assume the interim until the conclusion of the next leadership race, the member for LaFontaine, Marc Tanguay, then said that he was returning to the fold of Marie-Claude Nichols one of its priorities.

“I intend to contact Marie-Claude Nichols quickly to sit down with her and have a good chat with her. You will allow me to do it privately”, he had specified, without wanting to advance on what his training could offer him in return.

Indeed, the position of third vice-president of the National Assembly that Marie-Claude Nichols coveted has since been offered to the member for Viau, Frantz Benjamin.
