At a time when the snow shoveling season is not yet over, this property built a few meters from the ocean has something to melt with envy. Located in southwestern Jamaica in the aptly named Treasure Beach area, it is set back from tourist life and offers a haven of tranquility lulled by the waves.

The large glazed space has of course been designed to offer a constant view of the sea, topped by a panoramic terrace presented as the best location in the area to enjoy the sunsets. “The open-plan concept constantly captures the sea breeze, draining the exterior inwards,” the listing states, which is confirmed by photographs of the premises. The high ceilings, the modern design and the use of woodwork and basketry to decorate the various rooms and outdoor spaces (the large driftwood counter facing the sea is very inviting, as are the palapas) offer a nice balance between the charm of exoticism and the comfort of contemporaneity. A big plus: the furniture, collected from all over the world, is included in the sale.

The road starting at the front of the building quickly leads to Billy’s Bay, a fishing village with various services, but one is especially attracted by the staircase on the back facade, leading directly to the sandy beach, as if it were of a second backyard. The whole is surrounded by large, carefully maintained gardens. The region is deemed less accessible than the usual tourist areas, which can certainly be a defect… just like a quality.
