Exkixu went through the 90s in rock mode, with a touch of folk, brought by a traditional Basque instrument, the alboka.
With two studio albums and dozens of concerts, Exkixu has made the crowds dance, with light lyrics, but also, sometimes, harsh criticism of the ills of our societies.
“Ilusiorik ez”: stop macho education!
All the musicians of Exkixu are men, but their philosophy is supportive and respectful of women, and the group has always supported the struggles for women’s rights, for gender equality.
“Ilusiorik ez” highlights the ravages of macho education, which can completely mess up young boys, who end up feeling overpowered and consider girls “less important than them”.
