Although the holiday season is a time when we indulge more during different dinners and events, we shouldn’t start counting our calories, according to a nutritionist.
“It’s normal for our eating habits to deviate from our normal habits,” underlined Myriam Beaudry, nutritionist and doctoral candidate in nutrition, in an interview on LCN.
The Holiday Season, “a time of festivities,” represents only 2% of the year if only the first half of the holiday is included.
“Our eating habits and our health will not be formed between December 25 and January 1 […] an ingredient that you absolutely must not have on your plate is guilt,” mentioned Myriam Beaudry.

Avoid skipping dinner to eat more at dinner, she recommended.
“Go get some fresh air, go take a walk, but don’t go take a walk to burn calories! […] Please take this guilt away!” mentioned Ms. Beaudry.
The rule also applies to your behavior towards your loved ones during holiday dinners.
“A great gift that you can give to your loved ones is not to comment on what they will consume during meals, nor to comment on whether you have observed weight fluctuations,” she continues.
