After announcing eight days ago a “exceptional help” for SMEs in the sectors most affected by health restrictions, the government is giving back the cover. A similar device for the self-employed was announced by the Minister Delegate for SMEs, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, on Wednesday January 26.

A “exceptional financial assistance” will be awarded “to self-employed workers and self-employed entrepreneurs in the hotel, catering, discotheque (such as DJs), nightlife, event, travel agency sectors”. Its amount “still needs to be calibrated” in the days to come, explained Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne. It can be requested on the urssaf.fr, secu-independants.fr or autoentrepreneur.urssaf.fr websites, and will be paid by the councils for the social protection of self-employed workers.

A reduction in social security contributions for December and January will also be granted to all self-employed and self-employed persons in the S1 and S1 bis sectors, which also include “live performance, sports clubs, museums, casinos, film production”.

Those who have lost more than 65% of turnover will be able to deduct from their activity for the first quarter of 2022 the turnover achieved in December and January. Between 30 and 65% of losses, they will be able to subtract half of their turnover.

A few dozen people from the tourism or event sectors, as well as VTC and taxi drivers, demonstrated on Wednesday in front of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to protest against their exclusion from this aid.
