(Nashville) The chairman of the board of the Nashville Predators has agreed to sell the majority of his shares in the NHL club to former Tennessee governor Bill Haslam.

The Predators made the announcement on Friday, but did not reveal financial details of the deal.
The Predators were recently valued at US$680 million by Sportico.
Haslam, whose brother Jimmy owns the Cleveland Browns and the Columbus Crew, is therefore acquiring the majority of the shares of the current majority owner, Herb Fritch. The transaction will be completed in several stages. Haslam will thus become a minority partner in the coming months before gradually increasing its stake.
The sale still needs approval from the rest of the Preds organization, which includes 16 co-owners, as well as the NHL.
