Former Guinean dictator Moussa Dadis Camara, who escaped from prison on Saturday November 4 in the morning thanks to the intervention of a heavily armed commando, was captured and put back behind bars, said late Saturday afternoon. the country’s army as well as its council.

“Captain Moussa Dadis Camara was found safe and returned to prison”, the director of information for the armed forces (Dirpa) informed AFP, without specifying the circumstances of the capture. Former dictator Moussa Dadis Camara has been on trial since September 2022 in the case of the Conakry stadium massacre, which occurred in 2009, alongside eleven other members of his junta at the time. Of the three or four men (depending on sources) taken from prison on Saturday morning, only Colonel Claude Pivi remains untraceable, said the director of Dirpa. He “is actively sought”but “he has no chance of leaving the country since Conakry is cordoned off”he added.
