(Montreal) The former president and CEO of Hydro-Québec, Sophie Brochu, will join the board of directors of the information technology consulting firm CGI next September.
It was the Montreal-based company that made the announcement in a press release on Tuesday.
CGI Founder and Executive Chairman Serge Godin says Mr.me Brochu and his experience leading large public and government organizations will greatly benefit CGI’s clients and shareholders.
Godin adds that the newcomer’s human-centric approach is in line with CGI’s culture and values.
Sophie Brochu led Hydro-Québec from 2020 until last month. Previously, she spent most of her career at Énergir, where she served as President and Chief Executive Officer from 2007 to 2019.
Mme Brochu, who is in her early 60s, is already a member of the Bank of Montreal’s board of directors.
She had announced at the beginning of last January that she would be leaving her position at Hydro-Québec on April 11, ie before the end of her mandate.
