(Évian-Les-Bains) Australian Stephanie Kyriacou made seven birdies to sign a 67 (minus-4) on Saturday, and give herself a one-shot lead at the top of the Évian Championship standings.
Kyriacou is at 14 under after the third round, just ahead of Japan’s Ayaka Furue (70) and American Lauren Coughlin (65), who share second place.
“I’m just trying to be patient,” Kyriacou said. “The more you play this course, the more you get to know the intricacies of it. I don’t think I’ve been in contention for a major before, so it’s exciting.”
Canadian Brooke Henderson (71) is 22eat minus-5. Her compatriot Savannah Grewal was unable to avoid the axe.
Furue made two bogeys, ending an impressive 46-hole streak without one.
Coughlin, who tied for third at the Chevron Championship for his best finish in a major, had a spectacular day that included two eagles.
Defending champion Celine Boutier started her day with a triple bogey, struggling to recover. The Frenchwoman shot a 69 and was 11 shots off the lead after 54 holes.
