everything you need to know about the now paid parking of motorized two-wheelers

There, it’s done. From September 1, 2022, motorized two-wheelers can no longer park for free in Paris. (It is always possible for electric two-wheelers). Owners of scooters or motorcycles should pay by the day or take out a subscription punishable by fine.

How much does it cost ?

For those who live in Paris, it is possible to subscribe a subscription. It is 22.50 euros per year and you have to add 75 cents for the day to park around your home. If you have to travel in Paris and you park far from home, you will have to pay the visitor rate.

This visitor rate is 3 euros per hour in the first 11 arrondissements from Paris. He’s from 2 euros elsewhere. Parking is limited to 6 hours at a time.

You can also subscribe to a subscription in a Parisian underground car park. The city of Paris has negotiated a 2WD Pass with 90 car parks. The subscription is 70 euros or 90 euros per month, depending on the area.

Where can you park your two-wheeler outside?

Of course you can park your two-wheeler on dedicated pitches. There are 40,000 parking spaces for motorbikes, scooters and bicycles in the capital. You can also park on any parking space.

On the other hand, there is no question of setting up on a sidewalk.. It is forbidden and you risk a fine of 135 euros for awkward or dangerous parking, and even a impoundment.

What do you risk if you don’t pay for your parking?

As with cars, you risk a fine. This PV is called FPS (Post-Parking Package). You will have to pay 25 euros or 37.50 euros, depending on the area.

Be careful, there will be no indulgence. The Paris City Hall warns that the verbalization begins on Thursday, September 1. First of all, these are municipal officials who will carry out these checks.

No automatic controls, carried out by the cars for the moment. It is not possible. The cameras cannot read the plates of two-wheelers which are smaller than those of cars.
