The liberal doctors are on strike, Tuesday, February 14, in particular to obtain price increases for their consultations. The collective behind the movement is asking for 50 euros, where the government is only offering 1.50 euros.

No consultation, Tuesday, February 14, for this general practitioner from Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin). She chose to close her office to go demonstrate in Paris. “It’s quite historic, (…) it’s one of the first times when, in December then at the end of the year and finally today, when the cabinets are really closed”, notes Anne Limouzin-Bastian. Like his fellow strikers, Dr. Anne Limouzin opposes the government on several points, including the payment of consultations.

New prices set at the end of February

For the moment, the Health Insurance offers an increase in the consultation of 1.50 euro, in exchange for an increase in tasks. Clearly insufficient, according to the striking doctor. The group of doctors of which she is a part, claims that the consultation can be increased to 50 euros. An amount on which all the unions do not necessarily agree, but all protest against the increase of 1.50 euro. The minister has already replied that he was open to negotiation. The new prices will have to be fixed at the end of February.
