“Hop hop, go over there, hurry up!” Henriette pushes her little dog towards the exit. Even though it is a luxury motorhome, we sometimes get on our toes a bit. It is almost half past twelve on December 25, and a strong smell of poultry emanates from the door of the vehicle, installed in an area of Roque-Gageac in the Dordogne. “Didier! At the table”, launches Henriette. Today is Christmas, and she has prepared a real festive meal.
3rd Christmas in a motorhome
On the menu, foie gras casserole, and guinea fowl supreme, of course washed down with a glass of champagne. “There is everything you need to cook here!”, indicates Henriette. This is the 3rd Christmas that the couple, from the Bay of Somme, spend in their motorhome. They left children and grandchildren at home for Christmas, and will stay all week in Dordogne. They planned to visit Roque-Gageac, the castle of Castelnaud and Sarlat. “Frankly, I will not change any more. We would be locked up at home, we would not be well. There are people from all regions who spend Christmas like us. I love this life, we like to discover”, smiles Didier.
Moreover, for the New Year they plan to meet up with friends, motorhome drivers too. But this time, there will be too many of them, the festive meal will be in a farm inn.
