Food shopping prices continue to soar. In September, the shopping basket from 20 Hours, consisting of commodities, is up more than 10% over a year. In August it was 9%. The children’s snack has especially increased.

Thursday September 22, like every month, the 20 Hours shopped in the “Le Panier du 20h” section. This month, the receipt exploded: +10.17% over a year. For a year, this is the first time that it has undergone a double-digit increase. The rise is accelerating: of 0.26% last September, it therefore increased to more than 10% today.

No product is spared, such as children’s snacks, for example. The bread thus increased by 20.19%and private label biscuits increased by 9.12%. Increases which can be explained in particular by that of wheat prices. These increases have not escaped the notice of parents. First-price butter, for its part, increased by 23.23%when brand jam increased by 8.13%. For foodies, the premier chocolate price increased by 10.45%. All of these processed products are subject to rising transport, energy and labor costs.
