October, as fans know, heralds the return of oysters, then at their peak of freshness. The renowned Odessa fishmonger puts the prized shellfish in the spotlight all month long in its six branches, a delicious way to highlight the 40e anniversary of this family business.

Thus, Saturdays in October will be under the sign of aperitifs and discoveries, while two varieties of oysters will be offered free of charge for tasting, with a wine pairing (from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.). Tuesdays will be the opportunity to get the Gipsy oyster, from New Brunswick, at $0.99 and attractive discounts are promised the rest of the week.

Want to extend the restaurant experience? See you from October 20 to 30 for the 11e Oystermania festival, where several participating establishments will offer oyster platters with cocktail or champagne pairings.

Speaking of seasonal produce, the lovely Paloma restaurant, specializing in Nice cuisine, is welcoming the Les Carottés farm, located in Brigham, on Wednesday October 19. One vegetable per service, for a total of six, will be highlighted by Armand Forcherio and Isael Gadoua, local chefs, while the humans behind the vegetable farm will be on hand to explain their approach (price: $85 ).

Isn’t pizza season all year round? No doubt, but Pizza Fest is a great opportunity for a slice or more. Until October 24, fifteen pizzerias in the greater metropolitan area (Alto, Brook NYC, Fiorellino, Gousto Bistro, Pizzéria Melrose) are taking part in the event by putting a special creation on their menu.
