Want to quench your thirst? There’s no shortage of options this weekend, with two events devoted to local ciders and beers.
Posted at 2:00 p.m.
The tour begins on the side of the Lachine Canal park, with Soif de cidre Montréal, a new version of the Mondial de cidre du Québec, organized by the Quebec Cider Producers. The outdoor program, which we promise to be festive, will bring together 30 cider makers from across the province.
The apple, in all its variations, will be there to discover: sparkling cider, ice, still, rosé, fire, etc. ! On site, an SAQ bistro to sample all this, in the company of a sommelier, as well as, on Saturday, July 16, a “Quench your thirst” evening, cocktails and sparkling ciders as a bonus.
A catering area will allow you to fill your stomach. Throughout the duration of the event, from July 15 to 17, the bars and restaurants in the surrounding area of the Griffintown district will offer food and cider pairings and signature cocktails based on the popular alcohol.
Price: $22, which includes admission for one day, 12 tasting coupons and a drink.
Laval Beer Festival
More of a beer type? Head to Île Jésus, at the Center de la nature, for the return — for the first time since 2019 — of the Laval Beer Festival to discover the 85 exhibitors present at this 6th edition. Among them, local producers, cider houses and distilleries, as well as some forty Quebec microbreweries.
On the spot, we dip our lips in the Festivaloise, grisette of thirst and official beer of the festival, resulting from a collaboration between Pit Caribou and Les Insulaires Microbrasseurs. Street trucks will be on site to feed all these beautiful people, and a diversified program – music, humor, family zone – is in the game.
Price: from $15 for one-day general admission.
