Founded in 1994, the Mondial de la bière returns for the 29e year in the courtyard of Windsor Station, with an offer of no less than 400 products – unique beers, but also new products from Quebec cider houses and distilleries.
Among the 98 exhibitors present this year, there are 34 breweries outside Quebec from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Estonia, the United States and Ireland, among others.
In addition to the usual tastings and shows under the tent, we also note the return this year of 45-minute workshops presented by experts in the field.
Quebec Mead Week
Another event, brand new this time, is underway until May 28: the very first edition of Quebec Mead Week, organized on the sidelines of World Bee Day, this May 20.
On May 19 and 20, mead producers from across Quebec gather at Jean-Talon Market. Throughout the week, tastings will take place at various retailers, while the producers will meet the participants, and the week will conclude on May 27 and 28 with two open days at more than a dozen producers from a little all over the province.
Among the participants: Miellerie King (whose Alvéole alcoholic cream has just been awarded a gold medal as well as the prize for the best alcoholic cream in Canada at the 2023 World Liqueur Awards), Desrochers D, Hydromel Charlevoix and Apikol .
