Beba, one of the Montreal restaurants that goes the most under the radar – but which has just learned of its selection for the Lauriers! –, will cook a meal to pair with sakes from the iconic Jikon brand, in its small premises in Verdun, on April 6.
It’s an evening signed Déserteur, a company that operates as an online wine merchant and agency, while organizing exceptional gourmet events.
The menu will tend much more towards the land than the sea. “We tried to move away from the expected pairing between sake and fish,” reveals Asma Ben Tanfous, founder of Déserteur.
Beba’s chef, Ariel Schor, combines his Argentinian origins with his previous culinary experiences, among others within the Joe Beef group.
The tasting which, remember, gives access to sakes that are very difficult to find in America, explanations included, costs $275 per person, taxes and tip included.
