Here we go again. After a Tour de France rolled at an unprecedented pace, the Clasica San Sebastian puts some stars of the peloton back in the spotlight on Saturday July 30. Danish Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma), winner in Paris, will not take part in the Basque race, as will the entire Arkéa-Samsic team, including Nairo Quintana and Warren Barguil. The Breton team, undermined by the Covid-19, wants to take time to rest the bodies of its riders after the Tour.

Conversely, the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE), double winner of the Tour de France (2020 and 2021) will participate well in the event. He will then mark a break and will not participate in the Vuelta. The Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Quick Step-Alpha Vinyl), winner in 2019 of the Clasica and leader of his team, will finalize his preparation for the Tour of Spain.
