Threats made by telephone forced the evacuation of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts on Sunday morning.
The call received around 11:30 a.m. was taken seriously and police officers were deployed to carry out checks. The perimeter erected around the building was lifted around 2 p.m.
No threat was located by the Montreal City Police Service, indicated its spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.
Investigators will try to trace the author and the origin of the call.
The museum welcomed many visitors due to free access every first Sunday of the month.
