Eurozapping: many migrants in Italy, a crisis in Kosovo and the British victory at the Women’s Euro

On board overloaded humanitarian boats, dozens of migrants arrive from Africa on Monday, July 1. They landed on the island of Lampedusain Sicily (Italy). At least 1,000 people have arrived in the past 24 hours. Officially, since January, 34,000 refugees have arrived by sea in Italy. Figures well above those of last year at the same time. An influx that comes in the middle of the campaign for the legislative elections in the country, for which the far right is given winner.

In Kosovo, a new crisis has erupted with the Serbian minority. For a week, trucks had been blocking the roads leading to border posts. The Serbian minority intended to protest against the new administrative rules imposed by the Kosovo authorities, including a temporary residence permit. A measure finally suspended. The blockades were lifted on Monday.
